I am very pleased to acknowledge his recent message expressing his condolences for the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. This tragedy is estimated to be one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the United States, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without homes, food, or water. Many people have perished, while many others are still trying to find their loved ones.
I am infinitely grateful for your expressions of condolence and the offer of help in Mar del Plata, but for the moment they will not be necessary.
